Next door to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is Yas Waterworld, the largest water entertainment park in the capital, spread over 15 hectares, and offering a thrilling range of 45 rides, slides and attractions. The client wanted audiences to get a hang of this vast waterpark, while exploring it in a fun and interactive manner digitally. We were entrusted with the task to create a perception of a better waterpark experience at Yas Waterworld, as compared to their competitors.
We built a mobile game for Yas Waterworld, that simulates under water swimming to let the water sports enthusiasts explore the underwater experience. With the enticing UI and 3D animation the gaming experience itself engaged the users. The game showed an overview of the Yas Island and allowed users to dive into the water from a boat, experience a simulation of swimming underwater with dolphins, corals etc., in the water. The objective of the game was to look for the pearls and collect as many as possible within the given time. The game also tied in deeply with age-old tradition of pearl collection in UAE.
Multiple iPads were connected to a big projection screen displaying the game play in real-time. The outcome was high engagement with the game and perception of a greater waterpark experience at Yas Waterworld.
